How we use your photograph

The data controller is Westminster Conservatives, of our registered office. We are registered with the Information Commissioner under number our number.

The material itself

The photographs, video, audio recordings or quotes you agreed we could use.

Your name

So we can identify which consent belongs to which person, and find your material again if you ask us to stop using it. Your name is only ever published alongside the material if you separately ticked the box agreeing to that.

Your email address, if you gave one

To send you a copy of what you agreed to, and so we can reach you about this consent. It is optional and we do not add it to any mailing list.

Your signature and the date

The record that consent was actually given, and when. This is what we would produce if anyone ever questioned whether we had your permission.

Your pronouns and the event, if you gave them

So we refer to you correctly if we write about you, and so we know which occasion your consent covers.

We do not collect your address, your date of birth, your membership status, or anything about your voting intention on this form, and we do not link what you give us here to any other record we may hold about you.

Consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR. That is the whole basis: we rely on your permission and nothing else. It is why the form asks rather than tells, why every box on it is genuinely optional except the ones needed to identify the consent, and why you can withdraw at any time without giving a reason.

Where a consent was given by a parent or guardian for someone under 18, the young person can withdraw it themselves once they are old enough to do so, and we will act on that without going back to the adult who signed.

The material may be used in:

Some of these are third-party platforms with their own privacy policies, and material published there is subject to those as well as to this notice. Campaign material carries a legally required imprint naming who published and promoted it.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it with other organisations for their own purposes, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.

Material is used in new work for up to three years from the date you signed. After that we stop using it in anything new, and it is kept in our archive only, where it may be used to illustrate the work of Westminster Conservatives and its councillors over the years.

Your signed consent record is kept for as long as we hold the material it covers, because it is the evidence that we were entitled to use it.

Email our data contact and say you want to withdraw. You do not have to explain why, and it will not affect anything else. We will stop using the material, remove it from anything still under our control, and delete our copies.

One honest limit: we cannot recall material that has already been printed and delivered, or that other people have already seen, shared or saved. Once something is published it is in the public domain. That is why the form says so before you sign rather than after.

As well as withdrawing consent, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, and object to what we are doing with it. Email the address above and we will respond within one month.
